Yes, I quit Instagram...

At the end of 2018, along with the rest of the world, I pulled a Kon Mari of my studio, my closet, my kids toys, and yes, of social media. Back in 2013, Instagram was I knew everyone that I followed and that followed me. Inevitably, all good things must come to an end, and that end was the algorithm, the end of a chronological feed, and finally followed by #ads #ads #ads and #sponsored posts. My feed was a revolving billboard, and I had enough. A few friends thought I was insane to toss out 53k followers, and other friends totally got where I was coming from. The “influencer” culture was not something I wanted to be a part of. Blech. And don’t even get me started on the whole issue of copying content without permission and/or credit…

So bye bye IG, hello JOMO, which I have to tell you, is amazing! That IG “world” no longer exists for me. In the immortal words of Cameran from Southern Charm, “I don’t give a shiiiit”. I love pointed pen calligraphy, I love putting ink to paper, I love happy clients, and I love time with my family, and real in person friendships. All that exists without social media. Life is not in an app, at least not mine.

Time is your most valuable asset. Choose wisely how you spend it.

“But how will clients find you?”. They already do. I put the work in years ago and established relationships that allow my little business to thrive and continually pushes my creativity and skill.

I’m not on IG anymore, but I am at my desk, listening to Pride and Prejudice for the 100th time, creating beautiful pieces of paper for my clients.

If you actually read this blog post, thank you for visiting, and I wish you well! If you followed me on IG, thank you so much for all of your support and love during my time there, all your hearts and comments were most appreciated!
